Janet comes from a broken family who used to live in a town called Senya Breku. Her father would often beat her mother until they finally divorced. Shortly after, Janet’s mother brought her children to Accra to seek employment and a better life. Sadly, they ended up on the streets where Janet helped her mother by selling bread at the railway station. Janet started attending a street fellowship organized by ECM and gave her life to Christ when she was about 7 years old.

Then she was enrolled in the child sponsorship program and came to live at Haven of Hope where she was cared for and began to thrive. Because Janet was totally illiterate and started school late, she is much older than her peers. However, she is a very diligent young woman with a wonderful attitude and performed well in high school. She is now in her second of three years studying at Accra School of Hygiene for her degree in Environmental Health.  She currently has one sponsor, but needs at least one or two more to help her finish her last year strong.
