ECM has some exciting goals for the current fiscal year! Please click on the green links to learn more, and/or the blue links to give. Contact us if you have any questions not answered here, or if you’d just like to discuss any of these initiatives further:

  • His-Ability – Help for those with Disabilities. This includes a plan for how we will specifically improve the lives of the disabled children and their caregivers, focusing not on their disabilities, but on God’s ability to give each child hope and dignity. This program will include education for some, but unlike regular sponsorship, this would not be required or even expected in many cases. Other ways that we will help include provision of medical equipment, such as wheelchairs, braces, and walkers, providing medical surgeries and meeting medical needs in general, encouraging family members, educating family and community members, providing spiritual encouragement and guidance, and providing respite care for caregivers. Estimated Cost: $22,000. To give to His-Ability, click here.
  • Medical Outreach Fund. Providing medical help, especially through surgeries and other treatments, for suffering children, and medical clinics for children with albinism and the general population. Estimated Cost: $19,800. To give to Medical Outreach, click here.
  • Next Step Curriculum Development Program. This initiative will build on the curriculum that has been developed in Uganda, and will include all three countries where ECM currently works. Our goal is to develop full Next Step curriculums in Ghana and eventually Congo, and to implement staff trainings as needed. Finally, it is our goal to implement the curriculum through student workshops and other means. Estimated Cost: $11,000. To give to Next Step Curriculum Development, click here.
  • New Congo Vehicle Fund. The Congo National Ministry Center needs a new vehicle. The current vehicle is quite old and is becoming difficult to maintain. A new vehicle will allow the DRC staff to continue to minister and provide training in their communities. Estimated Cost: $16,500. To give to the Congo Vehicle Fund, click here.
  • Sun Shield Fund. This fund will allow ECM-Uganda to begin production, distribution, and sale of ECM Sunscreen Lotion in Uganda for children with albinism. Our primary goal, after final government approval, is to economically produce the lotion for our own children and caregivers. Our secondary goal, if goal number one is met, is to sell the lotion to the greater community of children and adults with albinism in Uganda, thereby generating income for the ministry in Uganda. Estimated Cost: $11,000. To give to the Sun Shield Fund, click here.
  • Next Step Scholarship Fund. This scholarship program will provide education funds for high-performing students who lack the necessary funding to continue with university education or high-level training. Scholarships would cover school fees, books, and other educational needs. The scholarship would not cover basic living needs and accommodations. The scholarship program would be a part of the Next Step Program. Estimated Cost: $11,000. To give to the Next Step Scholarship Fund, click here.
  • Garizim Training Center Repairs. Most of the structures at the Garizim Training Center in Congo were constructed over 25 years ago, and many are in dire need of repair. Many needs are already urgent and waiting any longer to make repairs will only lead to more significant structural damage. Estimated Cost: $8,800. To give for Garizim Training Repairs, click here.
  • Congo Sunday School Training. Congo Sunday School trainers are spread out over a wide geographical area, and it is difficult for ECM to monitor activity and to support the teachers in their work. Recently, all trainers came together for several days of advanced training and encouragement, but it is apparent that it would be better to do localized training in particular geographical areas. This annual training would focus first on Kinshasa, and in subsequent years would move to over areas of the country. Estimated Cost: $4,400. To give to Congo Sunday School Training, click here.
