Emmanuel lives with his Aunt. He lost his mother when he was 4 years old, and his father abandoned him. Emmanuel’s Aunt has 5 other children besides him, who she struggles to provide for. She has no husband. She sells ice water but doesn’t make enough to provide for everyone to eat and go to school. Emmanuel spends most of his time at the seashore helping fishermen bring in their catch so that he can get a little money to fend for himself. Emmanuel dreams of being able to go to school and becoming a pilot when he grows up! But unless he gets a sponsor, there is likely no hope for him to get an education.
