Fred lives with his older brother and his mother Prossy, who does not have a job. His father died four years ago. They live in a very old one room house. Before Fred’s father died, his mother was selling charcoal, but the business collapsed since the mother ran out of money to fund the business. Fred’s mother now does odd jobs such as digging for people’s gardens so they can get a little to eat. They don’t have enough income to support the family, but a relative helps them with their rent payments on the house. Fred was born with albinism, which makes his situation much more difficult than the average child.
