Dominic’s father abandoned him as soon as he was born, seeing that he was born with albinism, which sadly is considered a curse in Uganda. When Dominic was still very young, his mother and grandmother died within the same week. His Aunt came to get him and became his guardian. She unknowingly rescued him from another relative who was going to sacrifice Dominic in a witchcraft ritual. Thank God that did not happen to Dominic! Shortly after, his aunt enrolled him in ECM’s sponsorship program and he successfully completed high school! He also regularly attends church and invited Jesus to be His Lord and Savior! Now he is in our Next Step program and enrolled at YMCA college to study for his two year certificate course in public administration and management! He is such a bright, Jesus loving young man! Right now he doesn’t have anyone sponsoring him since his former sponsor could not continue. He needs $750 for tuition per year, not including his monthly upkeep which covers his basic needs while he’s living in the dorms. Monthly upkeep is $70 total. Could you prayerfully consider being one of the people to help support him in this last leg of his sponsorship journey till he becomes independent?

Everlyne lives with her Aunt, and her Aunt’s family, in the Kamwokya slums. They stay in a small, ramshackle house in a congested area. The house leaks when it rains. Everlyne’s father passed away a long time ago, and the mother abandoned her to the grandfather. When the Aunt came to visit and saw the condition of baby Everlyne with her elderly grandfather, not being properly cared for, she decided to take her in and raise her with her own children.
Her situation is very difficult because her husband is still not well and cannot walk, from an accident he had a while ago. So he cannot work, and the burden falls on her to take care of the family. She makes paper bags to sell to snack vendors on the streets. This brings in little income, not enough to both feed everyone and send them to school. The Aunt has 3 other children besides Everlyne to care for. Everlyne is overworked and often eats less than one meal a day. She was in Primary 7 but had to drop out, and hasn’t been in school for at least 2 years. Everlyne needs the support of a loving sponsor to help her so she can go to school and gain hope of a better life!

The grandmother makes bags to try to make some income. Sadly, it’s hardly enough to feed them both, let alone to send Esther to school. Someone was helping them out for a while, sending Esther to school. But now that friend can no longer help, so Esther has not been in school for a while. Could you prayerfully consider being the one to support Esther and change her life forever?
Merab lives with his mother, brother, and sister in a small shack in the Kamwokya slums. They sleep on old bags and boxes. He has never been to school. The father left the family, so the burden is on the mother to provide. Merab’s mother does all sorts of odd jobs, such as roasting ground nuts, to try to support her family. But it’s not near enough to feed all the children and send them to school. They often live on one meal a day, or less. Could you be the one to send Merab to school and give him hope for a great future?
Juliet grew up with her Aunt in the slums of Kamwokya. Her father died when she was still a young girl and her mother abandoned her when she was 12 years old. Juliet was left in the hands of her Aunt who has been her guardian up to now. Unfortunately, because her Aunt also has four children of her own, it has been extremely hard for her to provide for everyone. The Aunt was running a small business of selling roasted plantains, which barely brought in enough for them to live on. Juliet could attend school regularly due to the lack of finances to pay for school fees.
However, in 2010 ECM came to her rescue and enrolled Juliet in to the education sponsorship program and continued supporting her until she was able to complete her last year of high school. She then enrolled for a course to acquire her certificate in catering and hotel management, which she completed in 2019! She is now part of the Next Step program and applied for a business grant but needs some extra help to be able to start up her business, so that she can transition fully into independence and be able to support herself! She needs a total of $1300 to start her business. Could you be the one to give her hope and come alongside her in this final leg of her journey with ECM?
